Susan Bauer – Born and raised a Protestant minister’s daughter, counseling and assisting others was household given. Inspired by her father, (who at the age of 84 still attends self-development seminars), she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from Pennsylvania State University. During her youth, she went on spiritual quest and accepted initiation into Gaudiya Vaishnavism, Bhakti tradition in India stemming from the 16th century and was given the name Sukhavaha devi dasi. With her counseling skills coupled with spiritual knowledge, she was ordained an Interfaith Minister in January of 1992.

Susan has been involved in number of social welfare projects across the globe including the Barsana Eye Camp and spiritual care department of Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mumbai. She frequently speaks at leading spiritual communities on compassionate communication, emotional healing and building vibrant organizations.

She has developed A Heart Connection as a safe support system based on her own life’s journey for inner peace and for developing deeper relationships. She is also an author of Revealing the Heart : Practice of Compassion , a memoir of her experiences integrated with her new discoveries in compassionate communication. She is also mother of three children and grandmother of two.
